We even got him double waving! It was during the Olympic hockey game so Daddy was very excited already. Liam kept waving at me.
It has been very hectic this last week with both baby and Mama under the weather. Liam still has an ear infection so the doc put him on a stronger medication which is upsetting his tummy and making him generally fussy. But it's not slowing him down too much. He continues to crawl all over the place at increasing speed. Life is now a chase!
All we hear is 'Mama' this and 'Mama' that. It is the cutest thing. The next big thing: will it be walking or the much anticipated and elusive first tooth?

I am nearly finished with a new painting for Liam's play room and I'm too excited to share it to wait for the finishing touches. It's an ostrich! We're going to use it as a growth chart to mark Liam's height. I hope he get's a kick out of it!

We went to a new pediatrician today and we liked her very much. She said that Liam is growing and developing wonderfully. He is 21 pounds 6 ounces, 30" tall and he has his first ear infection. Boo! Because of this discovery, Mama gave him a pass and he didn't get his shots today. Hopefully, the ear will respond to the antibiotics without any nasty side effects.
Liam has been in pretty good spirits considering the ear pain he must be experiencing. He is such a good sport about going out to do errands (or "adventures", as we call them) as long as he gets a little while each day to crawl around his awesome play room when we get home. He is loving the new toys Mama got for him FOR FREE (thank you Freecycle!). Of course, they light up and sing but he is easier to keep track of that way. A quiet baby is surely getting into mischief somewhere, right?

Since learning to crawl two weeks ago, Liam has been working on his speed and agility. He does better on the carpet or the matted floor of his playroom but he is making advancements in the more refined areas of tile and hardwood maneuvering. As you can see in this picture, increased mobility has lead to the further skill of reprogramming the cable box and leaving drooly kisses on even more furniture.
Fortunately, he continues to find delight in all things, big and small. As is illustrated here, I only had to spent $56 at Amazon to get him his new favorite toy: The Box.
We are recovering from our first shared cold - boo! We took a class at The Little Gym and brought home a delightful germ. Liam has been in better spirits than Mama and we all can't wait to be done with the boogers and the sleepless (more so than usual) nights.

Liam is really crawling now. Here he is, navigating the obstacle course of all his toys to get to Mama.
We heard his "first word" over the weekend, too. MA MA! I thought I'd heard it before but this time it was clear as a bell and the most beautiful sound to this Mama's ears.
Liam has gotten into the habit of waking up at 8:30 at night to play with Daddy for a few minutes. These are some shots of the two of them enjoying some snuggles and TV.
