Redneck Days of Summer

Nothing says "summer time" quite like a shirtless Bub in denim cut-offs.

Bobby and Liam hit the mall

Liam's buddy Bobby shared a fun-filled afternoon at the mall: cruisin' for chicks, hanging out at the arcade, kickin' back at Starbucks.....the usual.
Here they are riding the helecopter ride in the Food Court. Our mini Mall Ratz!

Pondering his good fortune

Mama wanted something sweet from Gerado's Bakery and since there is no eating in front of Bub without sharing, Liam got cake, too.

Of course he liked my cone better

He's a coffee man like his Mama. And I don't like chocolate. It's not wrong to buy myself a new cone, is it? I thought not.

Our visit to the Fire Station and playing "what's hiding in your carseat"??

Today, we visited Westborough's Fire Station to get some help moving our carseat. Let's just say we tipped the seat upside down, out poured enough snacks to feed a squirrel army.
Liam also got to touch a fire truck and he got a special fireman hat!

It is either laugh or cry

Liam asked for chocolate milk and I got distracted before I screwed the lid onto the cup. The very next thing I know there is little Bub reaching up on to the counter for the cup.
The next part happened in slow motion. I truly had enough time to catch the cup and prevent the entire contents of milk from spilling down the counter, over and in the drawers and in the cabinets, pooling on the floor ....and yet I just watched it happen.
Liam started to bawl. There was milk soaking his shirt and socks. It was on the stove somehow. I could have sworn that I only poured 8 oz!
I just cracked up! I was laughing as I stripped Liam down to his diaper, for the second messy time in 6 hours. I was laughing as I told him that I wasn't mad, that it was an accident.
Did I want to mop the floor and wash cabinets in addition to making dinner and doing yet another load of laundry? Hell no! But it is either laugh or cry some days and today is one of those days.

Will Ferrel would be proud

We taught Liam to quote the movie "Talladega Nights" because we're awesome parents!

A two kitty night

Liam was, er, "difficult" to put to bed tonight. After all the plea-bargaining, threats, tears and three rounds of "last book" and "last song" I shut the door for the second time on a wailing Bub. It is pretty comical that we often holler "I LOVE YOU!" over his crying and run down stairs but it's either that or he'd still be awake at midnight with the remote and chocolate milk on tap.

Well, I foolishly checked in on him a mere hour later and the little monkey was still awake and busted me trying to sneak out. Is that wrong to try to evade your child? He got two more books and then thankfully went quietly to bed again.

Now, 90 minutes later I want to go to bed myself so I creeeeep up to the door and pray to see a sleeping baby boy. I found his face covered by Juju Be Kitty and when I removed that toy, there was Marcello Kitty, too! Poor little man. I'm so glad he has his pack of kitties too soothe him.
