Even more cuteness (video)

"So TALL" is a very common phrase around here along with "Let's build sumfin".

Liam building towers with groceries and singing (video)

I hate the Wonder Pets show but Liam loves it. So, we have seen enough episodes for him to know the theme song without Mama bleeding out of her ears.

Liam looks about 15 with his new haircut.

How he grew up overnight is beyond me. The kid only eats fruit gummies and chocolate milk and waffles but there must be some powerful building blocks in all that junk!

He is talking a blue streak and even starting to play act little scenarios between his toys.

Tonight, we were laying on his bed getting ready for sleep and he dropped his new school bus toy on my face. "OWIE!" I said. He asked, "What's wrong, Mama?" And when I told him that metal buses hurt Mama's face he told me, "It's OK."

So, there you have it. I'm being the baby now!

Say "Muffins!"

We are still waking up with the birds, or pre-birds many days, but my chatty little boy still makes me smile....even on less than 6 hours of sleep.
He sprung out of bed singing "MUFFINS" and "GO CAR"! As nothing is open at O' God-thirty, I compromised and baked.

I love that Liam calls my bathrobe my "Sleep Sack".

Everything is Mama chair, Liam chair, Mama coat, Liam coat, Mama bed, Liam bed. He does make me smile. Especially when I peek in on him asleep and he has one arm around Rainbow Kitty* and is clutching Blue Truck and Lovie with the other.

*Yes, he named her that! She is a brown, black and white calico so go figure!

Liam has invented a game called "Poor Baby!"

It consists of him running away from me yelling "I get you! I get you!" Then he turns and barrels back towards me, grinning like a mad man. When he gets to me, I'm supposed to pick him up and twirl him and hug him and yell "Poor Baby!"

This is his favorite game. I don't know why it makes him so happy but it does! It's more than a little weird....

Tain ride, green frosting and Sunday, Bloody, Sunday

Happy St. Patrick's Day from the Bub!

We visited the Ecotarium this morning and rode the train for the first time! Liam was very serious for the whole ride and I wondered if he even enjoyed it. Then we pulled into the station and he said, "A'gen?" Yup, he loved it!

Then there was a party with play group this afternoon that centered around children sucking down green frosted cupcakes and grabbing toys from one another.

Lastly, we wore our Irish themed pjs for 20 minutes before they looked like Liam was involved in a bar fight somewhere in Southie. (Raviolis were involved.) Presently, a half naked child bounces between couches. It's unclear if we will achieve sugar crash before bedtime.

Just when I thought I'd lost him to the Dark Side

Liam is back! He seems to be feeling so much better today. And after a week of runny nose, ear infection, croup, toddler and Mama melt downs, I think we see the light at the end of the tunnel.

He actually ate real food today instead of just chocolate milk and lollipops. He even tried lettuce! Although, we have a new problem: he throws food he doesn't like on the floor. Sigh. One step forward, two steps back, I guess!

We may be fit to mingle amongst the general public soon but I think I'm putting my family into a bubble until May. No more germies!

Co-sleeping is back on the menu.

Liam has a toddler bed now. I figured, well, he slept in a bed in California, why not just keep it going?

Well, he has a bazillion more distractions at home so it's been a struggle these last few days. What works is when Mama folds herself inside the tiny bed with Liam, sings and holds his little hand and gets poked in the face by tiny fingers. This act is requested with the words, "Mama do!"

So, Mama do! It seems to be working and he's sleeping now and not playing with his nine hundred trains. Plus, it's just so sweet to snuggle him and watch him turn his lovie around and around in his fingers as he settles into sleep.

When you need to bend the rules.

I tried to institute the "no cars on the table" rule this week when the vehicles started driving through our plates. But this rule was met with rigid refusal and blatant disregard. Liam would say, "Cars on table!" Mama would say, "No cars on table!" We were at a stand still and there were tears (some mine).

So, I brought in the little table and now cars are happily on the table. Clearly, where they belong.
