A 3 year old boy is not the target audience of an establishment with a strict "don't touch" policy. And yet, there we were, ready to enjoy the delicate spectacle of flitting butterflies.
Bub: I WANT to touch the butterflies! I'm going to GET them!
Mama: I know, I want to touch them, too, but those are the rules so we can't touch them.
Bub: I'm going to touch them ANYWAY!
Around and around we went.
He was actually really well behaved and didn't touch even one butterfly. He almost smashed a few with the camera lense doing some extreme close-ups, but I don't think that counts.
His reward was lunch at McDonald's because all of my hyper vigilance in preserving butterflies lives equals a free pass on feeding my kid some garbage food. And because french fries dipped in sweet and sour sauce are just yummy.

Bub and I love fire trucks! I think I'm as excited as he is when we visit the fire station. Our town has the nicest fire fighters and they tolerate frequent visits from us.
Here's Bub standing on the front bumper of the pumper truck.

$17 for organic, fragrance and dye free baby shampoo
$11 for organic, cruelty and paraben free moisturizer
$12 for most likely toxic and definitely dye and chemical laden colored bath tablets
Am I still in the black on the organic side or does the really fun bath water dilute all my efforts to safe guard my child?

Bub is stubborn.
He will never, with any amount of correcting or encouraging, call it an "Edmontosaurus" instead of "EdBRONtosaurus". Clearly, scientists everywhere and Dino Dan have got it wrong.
He is also steadfast in his pronouncement that something is "The biggest I've NEVER SEEN!"
"Mama! Is this the biggest strawberry you've NEVER SEEN??"
This one is actually one of my favorite Bubisms and I just chuckle every time he asks me. I will be sad when that one goes away.
The dinosaur thing really rubs me the wrong way, though.

Woo hoo! I am so happy that Bub wasn't sad when I left him at school this morning. He is typically very clingy when I try to leave and leaving usually takes 15 minutes. But today he was so engaged in the water and food dye experiment that was starting that he ran to give me an extra hug and then darted back to his friends before I could even get an extra kiss.
It makes me feel so much better about him being at school when it's clear that he's enjoying himself.

We both love special treats so it's pretty believable that at least once a week I'll be taking us out for something delicious. This week, we're at twice and the week ain't over yet.
Today found us at Starbucks, noshing on vanilla scones which Bub calls White Cupcakes.
In our defense, one of us has the metabolism of a three year old.
