That's why we don't throw things in the kitchen!

Liam and Daddy trotted into the kitchen and started tossing around Ju Ju Be Kitty.  She immediately landed in the sink in a bowl of water and peanut butter.

Liam and Daddy immediately look to me,  guilt all over their faces.

OK,  that's why we don't throw things in the kitchen!  I said.

Daddy said,  "Well,  I didn't know that rule but now I understand why.  "

Oh,  boys.  My two boys.

A Rare Pair

Liam loves Kitty.  Kitty loves Liam...  In her own way.  It is rare that she will sit so close to her biggest fan/tormentor.

You might be the mother of a young boy

~ if you commonly find dinosaurs in your washing machine.

~ if your vanity is covered by more trucks than makeup brushes and your jewelry is the "trash" for the trucks.

~ if you find trucks in your bed, a.k.a. "the mountain".

~ if you know emphatically the difference between a backhoe loader and a bucket truck.

~ if you acknowledge tackling as a loving greeting.

Potty not-Training

Desperate to make any advance in our potty training,  I let Bub run around his room in big boy underpants.  We were pretending that he was a kitty chasing a ball.

Liam,  do you have to pee?

Two minutes later....

The kitty is peeing!!

WHAT? On the floor???

Apparently,  yup.  On the floor.

You're a good friend, Mama.

Thank you,  Liam.

That made my day!

Not so instant not so gratifying

Last week,  Bub and I had a tough day.  I know,  IMPOSSIBLE you're thinking!  I turned to Amazon to kill some time and searching for toy delivery trucks naturally lead to ordering one.

Add to cart.

Check out.

Where's the truck???

I tried to explain that ordering the truck didn't make it magically appear in our house.   For days,  we talked about where the truck was.   And then,  blissfully,  we forgot about it.

Today it came!  We ran to meet the mail man at the door and we tore into the box.

Hmm, a lot smaller and less jazzy than I imagined but Bub was elated!

I've been waiting for this for TWO YEARS,  he exclaimed!

Played with it for 5 minutes.

Sleep, Little Bub

What a long week of sickness,  starting with croup and then processing to stage five toxic snot syndrome.   He's been cranky and not sleeping and eating only milk and popcicles and being a tyrant.

But at 11 PM he's not coughing,  cuddled in with his kitties and looks like a St. Valentines cherub-in-a-sleepsack.

And of course I just jinxed myself but I couldn't help it.

I am living on the set of a Three Stooges movie.

Liam was playing in the tub with a squirt toy and managed a direct hit to his eyeball.   That had to hurt!  Tears and wailing and water all over the floor and Mama as I did my best to comfort him.

Don't squirt the toy at your face,  only the wall,  okay?

Back into the tub he goes and IMMEDIATELY picks up the toy and squirts himself in his eye!!!

Bath over.   Is it possible he might take a second nap?!

Surely the worst phase of your child's illness :

When they are still sick enough to illicit your pity yet well enough to be full of annoying energy.

"Peanut Butter crackers?  Peanut Butter crackers?  PEANUT BUTTER CRACKERS! "

YES!!!  Honey,  I'm getting them.

*grinds teeth *

Taking produce to the farmer's market

Ecotarium Trip

Our Busy Bub

Liam plays a game called "Empty the closet and make a mess". Quite engaging.

And here is a good shot of his Bee-Boo
