Sigmund the Stegosaurus

And my Baby T-Rex.

Bub was taking a bath with his dinosaurs and was pouring water into the mouth of the T-Rex.

"The T-Rex is drinking a lot of water so he can grow up to be a Mama.
He's a Daddy so he needs to grow up and be a Mama."

I swear that I'm not making this up!

Happy Birthday, Bobby

Bub celebrated his little buddy's 3rd birthday.

Making a Strato Volcano Cake (with the help of a 3 year old)

1. make a bundt cake

2. blend berries, sugar and water for the "lava"

3. fill the "crater" with the "lava"

Voila!  Instant mess!

I did promise that tonight, we would add fire and dinosaurs to the dessert.  There may be no pictures as I will need a free hand for the fire extinguisher.

HAIKU by Yayu

A discovery!

On my frogs smooth,  green belly

There sits no button.

I read this to Liam tonight and he was CRACKING.  UP!   I must have said it 30 times.   He can even say it now!   I have to get a video. There's even a little choreography,  too.

He's going to be my linebacker poet laureate!

It's not just me, right?

Kitty looks rather sad that Bub has school today.

Watermelon is a shape and a toy.

There is now only one way to serve watermelon.  And it is not cut up into bite size pieces.

"I want it a triangle with the GREEN like at Grandma Cookie's house!  And I want to build towers with the green part after I'm done!"

So, we've got that going for us over here.
Thanks Mum ;)

If you have a 3 year old, you should have an outdoor shower.

Regardless of whether or not you live near the beach, if you have a small person who loves the combination of dirt + water, then you need to install an outdoor shower.

I made a total rookie mistake tonight when, after telling Bub to splash in a puddle to get some of the sand off of his feet, I sent him straight upstairs to the bath.  My tub now looks like the beach at low tide!

Now, I must contend with the big question: is it easier to clean the tub or never bathe again and just shower downstairs for the next umpteen years??

Davis Farmland.... we should have gone to the pet store!

Ask Bub what the highlight of our trip was and he won't mention the pony ride, the water park, the bubble pit,  the ice cream or feeding barnyard babies.

Holding the kitten.   Three times.  Regular kitten,  not a tiger or anything.

"Farmer?  Can you just let me hold the kitten and you keep your hands to yourself?"

I just about died!

I'm a little reluctant to admit that pleasure cost Mama $48 and that was rocking two coupons.   Bless you,  Bub.  You're a special little guy.  Here are the lesser fun things we also did today.

He hated the pony ride.

LOVED the fishin' hole!

There was a train running around the ceiling of the snack shack.  Big fun!  "Mama!  Look at that AWESOME com-MU-ter train!"  (It was a freight train, shhhhh, don't tell him I said that.)

My Fur Child

What good do I have to do in this life to come back as a cat?   My God,  she has the life.

Let it be said that I fought the good fight.

For 3 years I shoveled against the blizzard of blocks, cars,  books,  trains, kitties and dinosaurs.  I spent thousands of hours and perhaps as much money on organizational systems.   But I give up.   No MORE!   At most I'll kick a path through the havoc of toys and then go to bed.

Kuddos,  Bub.   You wore me down.

It's July 10th and I just bought my kid his Halloween costume.

It must be nice, sitting back and eating bon bons all day, you less-than-perfect Moms.

Snark!

No, I'm just insane and couldn't pass up the bargain.  Picture of the Bub to follow!

How a 3 year old says he loves you.

Beautiful flowers from the weed patch at the play ground.

Let's get this party started, Bub.

NO!  IT'S NOT A PARTY IT'S A HOLIDAY!

Touche,  Bub.

Let's get this HOLIDAY started, then.  In no particular order, here are some "delicious moments" (I had to use that phrase from "Design Star" because I think it's beyond pretentious) from our time on the Cape.

We visited the Cape Cod Children's Museum and guess what Bub played with?  Trains and dinosaurs.  Gee, I'll have to buy him some of those.

"Daddy Cheeze Puffies", or Cheetos, are the official snack of the 2012 Summer Games.

Yes, I married this man because he looks this good building a sand castle.

Grandma Cookie visits!

Guapos Mexican Cantina serves up some adult beverages and had the genius idea to have a chalk board on the patio so that your children don't bother you so much while you enjoy said beverages!

Some art buddies

This is what my child eats at a Mexican restaurant.  Peanut butter crackers.

Seals off the port bow!

Flowers for Mama.

We had the best time playing with a row boat that someone left anchored to the shore.  Bub got to be the Captain and I got to work my biceps hauling him in and out of the boat.

Noodle fun at the pool

Breakwater Beach, Brewster: loooooooooooooow tide.

Scouting for hermit crabs and fish.  Mama is safely away from all such yuckiness.

Happy Independence Day!

Now get out there and blow up a small piece of America.... please,  think of your mother and be careful while you're doing it.
