Like shoveling in a snow storm

The weather, nesting urges and my boredom with playing dinosaurs caused me to pull out my bead collection. A very adventurous or foolish idea with a rambunctious boy at home.

I have yet to piece together my project but Bub has made two beautiful necklaces! The vacuum cleaner will have a healthy snack later.

Little Bub is 3 1/2 pounds!

I met with my midwife today and was excited to learn that Little Bub is not already 10 pounds as my huge belly and aching body (and considerate strangers at the nail salon) suggest.  He is measuring spot on at 3 1/2 pounds.  Everything suggests that all is well with Baby and Mama and that I should go to term.

Now, if someone could invent a time portal to allow me to travel to the beginning of April, I would greatly appreciate it!!

A Letter to My Boys

Dear Chris, Bub and Little Bub,

You are all the sweetest Valentine's a girl could ever hope to have.  I'm so lucky to be the Princess in our home and experience all of your love.

Chris, you show me every day that you put my needs ahead of your own.  You race home from work to help me with bedtime, you get up with Bub in the mornings, you make me laugh and you are so very, very thoughtful.  I love to be your wife.

Bub, you tell me 50 times each day that you love me and I've never heard sweeter words.  You give the baby hugs and you keep a smile on my face with all of the silly things that you do and say.  I love to be your Mama.

Little Bub, you are growning beneath my heart and each day you make me smile with all of your funny jiggles and jumps.  I know that you will be a wonderful son and brother.  I love being your Mama.

Happy Valentine's Day to my boys!

Getting ready for Valentines Day

We made a whole bunch of gorgeous cookies for Bubs school party tomorrow. We may have also eaten a gallon of frosting and a bag of conversation hearts.

Don't forget Mrs. Claus!

We were looking at the globe and talking about which dinosaurs live where (of course). Bub decided that dinosaurs walked over the top of the Earth to travel from North America to Asia.

Bub, who lives in the North Pole? Santa? He's the only person who lives there because it's so cold.

Mama, don't forget Mrs. Claus!

A Snow Baby

Liam was asked in school yesterday what he wanted to do when the blizzard came.

He said, "Make a snow baby. “

I think he's really excited to be a big brother.

Bub Quotes

I have not been keeping up with recording all of the hilarious things that Bub says because there are simply too many of them!  Every day, that kid has me in stitches.  I'll try to remember a few choice examples.

"Speaking of my head. . . "  We weren't and where did he come up with that phrase??

"I want the 'LOTS' cereal."  This was tricky to figure out.  He means Honey BUNCHES of Oats.  Really cute!

"BE IT!"  A command instructing one to pretend to be a certain dinosaur.  Very bossy but still cute.  Variation, "Be the MEAT!" which, of course, means one should be the dead dino that is about to be consumed.

"When you're dead, you're dead."  Very matter-of-fact proclamation made while playing dinosaurs and one gets eaten by the other.

"MAMA! I WANT TO BE GROWN UP!"  His fury is because the plow man was digging out our driveway and he wished he were big enough to drive a plow truck.  Obviously.

” I want to visit Baby Flower. “ Do you mean Baby Lily? Yes. So cute!

There are zillions more.  The kid is damn funny.  I'll try to update when I can slog through the baby brain and think of them.

My innie is an outie.

I never got this far with Bub.  My belly button got very shallow and eventually flat.  But this little boy has managed to push the limits of his home and adorned it with what now looks like a doorbell.
