No one was happy with the arrangement, so I'm told by my 5 year old. Cubby has moved back in with Mama because Bub wasn't dealing with the crying. Like I enjoy the crying?!?
The co-sleeping is killing me, the pack n play didn't cut it, so this monstrous crib is back in my room. Any design work arounds appreciated. Or actual useful tips on getting a baby to sleep in his crib? You can save your breath with any suggestions of cry it out. Cubby will defeat any challenges. And he's the lightest sleeper. So now I get to whisper in my own bedroom.... Again/still.
And because I know I will get garbage sleep, I get bedtime insomnia. Why fight it? I embrace my wakefulness!

Bub is working hard to be a good boy. I was so proud of how he behaved himself at the Ecotarium today. He was very mature and was able to walk away from a tough situation involving some other kids whose father, ahem, should have disciplined them. Bub kept his frustration in check and earned some candy in the gift shop.
I was proud of myself that I only hinted at getting an orange Swedish Fish. Hint ignored! Come on, Bub!

Having waaaaaay too much fun with the gloves they do gross things to cows with.
Weird dogs are still dogs.
Gentle giant doggy is Cub's new BFF.
Dr. Liam is prepping for surgery. He saw the spaghetti guts he was going to have to paw through and bailed out right after this picture.

I'm not really sure why a sane adult woman would voluntarily bring two young boys to a gathering of trucks, all of which are sharp or rusty, and let said children climb into the cabs and honk the very loud horns!
Oh, it's that Mother's Love thing.

We went to Tougas today. The last time we were there, Cubby was weeks old. A lot has changed!
We pigged out on cider donuts and then laughed at a pig scratching his butt on a fence. Bub's reenactment of this at dinner is already legendary.

We love our ice cream.
I was happy to celebrate Bub's great day at school! We hit up the sundae bar and I let Bub pile on the candy. Cubby was a really good sport, tagging along to the bookstore afterwards where Bub got to choose a reward.

I got this.
And a bunch more shots which highlight perfectly why I am not a child photographer.
And we got ice cream.

Bub loves the show Wild Kratz, where two brothers have animal adventures. This is a picture of Bub holding milk weed, the preferred food of monarch caterpillars! (somehow, I'm suppose to share this with Martin Krat. If you're friends with him, let me know!)

Bub has moved onto to his new obsession with sea creatures. We now discuss ONLY sharks, whales and rays. We draw only underwater scenes and read nothing but shark books.
I started to hyperventilate about all of the money that is invested in dinosaur stuff. But it looks like Cubby is going to pick up the love fest!
Here he is explaining that T-Rex likes to stomp other dinos.
We enrolled Cubby in daycare two mornings a week so that I could have some dedicated time to have appointments for myself and with Bub's teachers. I hoped that Cubby would love playing with all the kids and so far, he does!
He didn't even notice me once we got there and he ate a better lunch for his teachers than he ever does for me!

Once a week, Cubby and Mama go to Gymboree for some climbing, bouncing and running around. His favorite part is the bubbles!
If I start to sing the songs from class, Cubby busts out into a huge grin and starts to clap!
We had an exciting visit to the fair this weekend! We got there at dusk and both boys were amazed by the lights of the midway. Bub went on three rides and won a prize! He immediately turned and gave it to his father which was so precious. Then he wanted to win Cubby a prize, too!
Then... The rain! It started to pour, huge fat drops! We dashed for the tent with the petting zoo and had fun seeing the animals while watching the downpour. It was clear that it wasn't stopping any time soon, sorry we had to run through rivers and lakes to our car. Sopping wet, we had a scary ride home through blinding conditions. There was even a tornado watch that we didn't know about!
We will always remember that visit!
