Poor Bub is sleeping....in the day time! He must be sick!

Being a mother of sons means admiring bugs, celebrating mud puddles, laughing at poop jokes, and learning everything about dinosaurs, construction vehicles and trains.
Being a mother of sons means tackle-hugs and dandelion bouquets. It means having to say "GENTLE!" a lot and having nothing delicate displayed in your home below the 5 ft mark.
It means I am completely outnumbered and entirely adored.

After clomping up and down the stairs multiple times to fetch juice, medicine or the correct blanket for Cubby, I grumbled that I was never going to get any rest.
"Just have a glass of wine, " Bub helpfully suggested. " That will make you sleepy. "
It was before noon, and I'm pregnant. I will have to remember your wisdom in 5 months, kiddo!
When I was expecting Mr. Apples, I created the story of babies choosing the family they would be born to. Not being religious and needing to skirt an overly early sex talk, I told Bub that a baby chose his Mama before he was born. This has stayed with him and he retold the story to me and Cubby and a heap of stuffed kitties last night.
"Tonight I'm going to teach about where babies come from!
First, they fly around in space until they find a Mama. Then, when they find her, their heart starts beating and they get into her belly. They stay in there until they are born. And then you have a baby brother! "
I love it!

Jacob Apples is so lucky to have so many little friends at his school. I always know that he had a fun morning, playing and learning. Here he is after water play, waiting to get changed into his clothes. So cute!

We're settling into our new home on EBW. Bub is very sad to leave behind all of his neighborhood friends at Kimball Road but both boys are enjoying all the extra space. And there are plenty of new friends to be met.
Last night, Cubby and I got popsicles from the ice cream truck! It was an idyllic summer evening. Slurping on melty pops with Cubby running through puddles in his diaper. We're certainly showing the neighbors our true colors right out of the gate!
I think we're gonna like it here!

A beautiful summer morning inspired me (mommy guilted me) into taking the boys to Tougas Farm. Also, I wanted a cider donut.
Well, they were terrible! Cubby ran amok, threw himself in the dirt and rolled around like a pig, and refused to walk with me so I was forced to carry him like a sack of potatoes. Bub argued and threatened in an attempt to get toys and candy. There was 5 minutes of peace while actually eating the donuts and another smattering of moments while visiting the animals.
Mostly, I was thinking, we are never leaving the house ever, ever, ever again!
