This is Halloween!!!

We've been SUPER excited for Halloween.  We have watched "Nightmare Before Christmas" a thousand times and we can all recite it in entirety.

Bub and Cubby had a practice run of Trick or Treating at Cubby's school the other night.

But tonight was the big show!  Everyone had a lot of fun and got major tummy aches from eating unlimited candy.

Cubby falls in love with brother's ratty kitties

Cubby has discovered his brother's ratty kitty, Ju Ju Be, Bub's raison d'etre,  circa 2010. I bet if Santa brought him a new stuffed kitty it would go unloved.

Special time with my littlest imp.

Cubby so often gets dragged to errands while his brother is in school. This morning, though, we bundled up against the chilly Fall sun and headed to the playground. There were many pumpkins and ghosts to spot along our drive,  and 12 scarecrows decorated the fence at the park.

We had the whole place to ourselves and Cubby delighted in a sand pit filled with dump trucks that he didn't have to share.  His bright orange jacket was brilliant against the blue,  blue sky as he swung high in the bucket swing and bounced on the seesaw.

He fell asleep on the ride home, tuckered out.  I will miss my adventures with my "baby". I'm sure he'll be a wonderfully a happy middle brother,  with someone to worship and someone to boss around.

Dino Art

Inspired by some new markers, a gift from Grandma Cookie, Bub is filling up a sketch book with new creations.

"Cooperating" at the grocery store

Some days, a giant cookie slathered with frosting is an appropriate trade off for compliance. My third trimester is those days.
Fortunately,  the local farm stand had a bouncy house!  All part of the master plan.

Happy birthday, dear Daddy!

We celebrated Chris's birthday a day early with his family.  Today, the poor man has to work, so the kids and I honored him by getting out of the house and visiting the DeCordova Museum.

Future fashion designer?

I've never seen Christopher Columbus so majestically decked out! Bub has got mad skills.

My little trouble maker

I really hope this picture isn't foreshadowing future college-age shenanigans and someone's first mug shot! I'm just saying....Mr. Apples looks a little "impared".
Here he is in active contemplation of future, unchecked naughtiness.

Regret is a bed full of wood chips

Cubby sweet talked about me into letting him nap in Mama's bed.  He snores and was flopped up against me but it was pretty cute and I was so tired for a nap myself.  Cut to this evening when I pull back the sheets to find a bed full of dirt and wood chips.  That boy is PigPen! He's super lucky he's adorable.

Fall Pandemonium at Tougas Farm

Regional laws mandate that each family participate in an apple picking outing to boost the local economy.  Here's our best effort.

We were fortunate enough to show up at the tail end of the day when there were only one thousand people there instead of twelve. We waited in two long lines for snacks but by that time, the crowds had further thinned and we were able to pet the farm animals and play on the playground for a while.  It was BRISK weather but perfect for keeping us in the Fall spirit.

$50 later (I know, we got off easy) we were filled up on apples, cider donuts and cookies and Bub had collected a pound of chicken feathers. Don't ask, we're into feathers these days.

It was typical chaos but I will fondly  remember it as one of the last adventures with only two boys.

They always find the quickest route to the dirt.

Seen here crawling through chalk drawings,  fighting over a dirty toad, the Wrona Boys are never far from their next wardrobe change.
