The boys all enjoyed an alarming amount of candy at Grandma Cookie's party today. They were insane with sugar and silliness, and had a great day playing with their cousin.
Now, we're ready to do it again. The bunny has already delivered her baskets. We wait. . .

This little child is so beautiful, inside and out.
When I was pregnant with him and I worried that I wouldn't know how to care formhim, I was told,
"He'll be your Buddha. He'll teach you everything that you need to know."
He's still teaching me, every day, something new.

This kid is so lucky he's cuter than a baby duck!
In trying to leave the house for story time this morning, I stuffed Cubby and our Nanny out the kitchen door (and locked it behind them) to wait while I scooped up the baby and headed out the garage door. Before I could get too far I heard the rattling doorknob.
When the garage door went up, there was Cubby, glaring at me.
"Why'd you lock that door!?"
Oh, child. You are a piece of work! I barely concealed my smile as I scolded him for being rude.
Driving away, Cubby said our house looked sad. Why? Because we were going to the library.
Here's my big boy who is very hard to photograph these days, and Pickle who is *this* delighted by the ceiling fan.

Secrets and lies! That's what it's all about over here. Secrets and lies.
Secret! We went to the mall.
Lie? We did NOT get a new toy and eat ice cream for lunch.
Full disclosure: we met the Easter Bunny's helper.
Lie: We're totally going to go back and do it with everyone!

Dylan, you've had your first taste of museums -- science, natural history and art.
Paleo! Renaissance! Romantic! Figurative! Decorative! Impressionist! Modern! Contemporary!
You slept through some, burbled at others and some you clearly adored.
My deepest wish is that you grown up to appreciate beauty and honor the tradition to preserve and recognize these relics of our shared humanity.
I hope that you will love museums as much as your Mama.

Chris and I were talking in the playroom while we changed the baby.
Jacob Apples marches in with a scowl and says, in a very growly voice, "Knock it off," turns on his heel and goes back to his movie.
Thank goodness for that kid! I laugh 10 times a day because of his little personality.
