I'm laying a foundation for emotional eating issues, but when I get some special time with one of my boys, it involves a sweet treat! Yesterday, Cubby and I hit up the library and the muffin shop. Today, Bub and I did errands and got a cupcake.
We deserve it!
Bub is gearing uo for his 7th birthday with a countdown and daily speculations about his cake and what he might get for gifts. 7 shopping days until the big party. Tick tock!

School vacation is, er, challenging.
But we did it! Sure, there was yelling, but there was some fun and ice cream and sand play and a museum, flowers, more ice cream and water squirters!
Yesterday, we visited Tower Hill Botanical Gardens. The boys were very excited to run about in the sun. We even happened upon some faerie houses!

We started vacation week with a yard sale and donuts, followed by some fine dining for me and Bub. Then we played with uncle Jim and had some ice cream! This is Cubby's first cone. It was "danilla", of course.

This guy has had such a rocky road this year. It's so sad, because he has the biggest heart and tells me every day, "I love you, Mom!"
He taped these fallen tulip petals together and presented them to me as a gift.

3 years old!
Cubby started the day with a rocket ship full of presents! Then, he and I bounced around and ate cake for lunch.
Mr. Apples, you melt my heart with your smile!
Don't ever lose your passion and zeal!
I love you oucho mucho!

Thank you to everyone who made today so special for Cubby! He really enjoyed all of the attention and being the focus of so much excitement and fun.
I think this is the first birthday that he can remember and I could see how amazed he was. He even did a perfect job blowing out his 3 candles.
Oh, my little heart, he's growing up!
